India Post released a Special Cover on the Diamond Jubilee of the Border Security Force


Border Security Force as India's First line of defence has rendered invaluable service in safeguarding India's borders and maintaining Internal Security

On the occasion of Diamond Jubilee of Border Security Force, India Post released a Special Cover and Cancellation on 21st November 2025, which was unveiled by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home and Cooperation, Shri Amitbhai Shah in Bhuj.

This Special Cover, released on the theme “Border Security Force – 60 Years of Glorious Service (1965–2025)”, depicts the Border Security Force’s distinguished performance on land, water, and in the air.

Established on 1st December 1965 after the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965 to secure India’s borders with Pakistan, the Border Security Force, as “India’s First Line of Defence,” has rendered invaluable service in safeguarding India's borders and maintaining Internal Security.

In the 1971 Indo-Pak War, Border Security Force personnel fought shoulder to shoulder with Indian Army, playing a vital Role in the Liberation of Bangladesh. The Force has displayed exemplary courage in counter-terrorism operations in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

The Force displayed indomitable bravery and commitment during "Operation Sindoor", earning 2 Vir Chakras and 16 Gallantry Medals. As Border Security Force completes Six Decades of Glorious Service, it continues to stand tall as the sentinel of the Nation's borders, upholding its inspiring motto - “Jeevan Paryant Kartavya” (Duty Till Death).

This Special Cover depicts the glorious history and multi-dimensional work of the Border Security Force.
