JIPMER Joins Nationwide Commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”

The Jawaharlal Institute of Post‑graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) today participated virtually in the national celebration marking the 150th anniversary of the composition of the national song Vande Mataram.
This year, November 07, 2025, marks the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song Vande Mataram, which translates to “Mother, I Bow to Thee.” This composition, an enduring anthem, has inspired countless generations of freedom fighters and nation builders, standing as a lasting emblem of India’s national identity and collective spirit.
Dr. Vir Singh Negi, Director, JIPMER, led the virtual participation of the institute in the national celebration organized to commemorate this historic occasion. The event was graced and addressed by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who highlighted the timeless relevance of Vande Mataram in uniting the nation through its message of devotion, pride, and resilience.
Senior faculty members, officers, and staff of JIPMER joined the virtual celebration from the campus. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Negi emphasized that Vande Mataram continues to evoke a deep sense of patriotism and commitment to national service, inspiring every citizen to contribute to the progress and unity of the nation.
