Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways Shri V. Somanna said that the Rozgar Melas reflect Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment to creating more employment opportunities in the country. He was speaking as the chief guest at the Rozgar Mela organized by the Postal Department as part of the national-level Rozgar Mela at the Centre for Water Resources Development and Management in Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode.

The Minister said that recruitment processes have been accelerated in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. He pointed out that 5 lakh jobs have been created in the Railways over the last 11 years, and that the procedures were completed through computer-based examinations without any complaints.

He urged the newly inducted candidates to view government service not merely as a job but as an opportunity to serve the underprivileged sections of society. He emphasized the importance of working with sincerity, honesty, and transparency.

Shri V. Somanna further stated that the Central Government aims to build a system that not only creates more jobs but also enables more businesses to succeed, thereby ensuring stronger economic growth.

Pointing out that 60% of India’s population is between the ages of 18 and 35, the Minister said that with the strength of this youth power, India will emerge as the world’s third-largest economic power by 2028.

He also highlighted the various steps taken by the Central Government over the past 11 years for the comprehensive development of all sectors in the country and noted that several measures have been introduced to make it easier to do business in India.

As part of the national Rozgar Mela initiative, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited personnel via video conferencing and delivered an inspiring address. Participants at the Kozhikode event witnessed the live webcast of the programme.

Appointment letters were handed over to 47 candidates at the Rozgar Mela organized at Kozhikode. The appointment orders pertained to the Department of Posts, Railways, Airports Authority of India, and the Union Home Ministry.

Director of Postal Services (Northern Division) Shri V. B. Ganesh Kumar and Southern Railway Palakkad Divisional Manager Shri Madhukar Rout were also present at the function.
