Seven Days of witnessing Culture and Development: Rajasthan Journalists' Delegation Overwhelmed by Gujarat Visit


Journalists Studied Gujarat's Development Model and Cultural Heritage in Press Tour Organized by PIB Jaipur

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Jaipur, organized a special press tour for journalists from Rajasthan. The main objective of this 7-day trip was to familiarize the journalists with Gujarat's development model, industrial progress, and the state's rich cultural heritage. A delegation of 15 journalists visited various important locations in Gujarat from September 24 to September 30, 2025.

On the first day of the trip, September 24, 2025, the journalists visited Vadnagar, the hometown of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and then witnessed the architectural splendor of the world-famous Sun Temple at Modhera. In the evening, they visited an exhibition organized by the Central Bureau of Communication at the GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad and enjoyed the fervor of Garba, a dance that is the cultural identity of Gujarat.

On the second day, the delegation visited the 'Statue of Unity' at Kevadia, the world's tallest statue dedicated to the architect of the nation, Sardar Patel, which is not just a statue but an integrated tourism destination and a symbol of national pride. At night, they enjoyed the Lakshmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba in Vadodara. The next day, they visited the Amul Company and the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) in Anand, studying the global success story of rural empowerment and the cooperative structure achieved through the White Revolution.

After returning from Anand, during the visit to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Ahmedabad, the journalists gained in-depth knowledge about ISRO's operations and achievements. During this visit, the journalists felt proud knowing about the success of missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, and they interacted with ISRO Director Shri Nilesh Desai. In the afternoon, they visited the Sabarmati Riverfront, where they discussed the project with the Municipal Commissioner and Managing Director of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project, Shri Banchhanidhi Pani, (IAS) and visited the Atal Bridge. During the visit to the Sabarmati Riverfront and the Atal Bridge, they witnessed an excellent model of urban development and civil amenities.

Subsequently, on Sunday, the delegation studied the under-construction Smart City Project at Dholera. After that, they witnessed the remains of the Harappan civilization at Lothal and made a thorough study of the tourism project being developed there.

On the next day, the journalists visited the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar and the GIFT City, India's first operational Smart Business Park, to understand its ultra-modern infrastructure and operational procedures.

On the final day of the trip, September 30, 2025, after visiting the Kochrab Ashram in the morning, the delegation visited the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar and met its Director. In the evening, they paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, at the Raj Bhavan.

During this 7-day press tour, the journalists from Rajasthan deeply studied Gujarat's development model and obtained extensive information about its rich cultural heritage, after which they returned to Rajasthan. This trip proved to be an important bridge for the exchange of information and knowledge between Gujarat and Rajasthan.
