Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has successfully conducted 62 training sessions under the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme – Phase II, covering more than 2,000 employees across various cadres including faculty, nursing, technical, administrative, and allied health professionals.
These one-day workshops, organised every weekend across multiple venues within the JIPMER campus, form part of the Cascade Training Model envisaged by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Government of India. The initiative aims to create a cadre of trained government employees who demonstrate efficiency, empathy, and service orientation in their workplace.
The training programmes were facilitated by Master Trainers (Karmayogi Coaches) of JIPMER, who had undergone a three-day Lead Trainer-guided capacity building module earlier in August. The interactive sessions incorporated group-based learning, problem- solving activities, and workplace scenario discussions to make the training impactful and participatory.
Adding further value to the programme, Mr. Henry Arokia Raj, official from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, conducted a special Orientation on the iGOT Karmayogi Digital Learning Portal for JIPMER employees. His session familiarised staff with the features of the platform, course enrolment processes, and continuous learning opportunities available under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB).
Director, JIPMER, Dr. Vir Singh Negi, emphasised that JIPMER’s proactive implementation of the Karmayogi initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to building a future-ready, service-oriented workforce in alignment with the vision of the Government of India.

With the successful training of over 2,000 employees, JIPMER stands as a leading institution in implementing the Rashtriya Karmayogi Programme in the health sector. The institute will continue to expand the coverage in the coming weeks, ensuring that every staff member is trained to be a true Karmayogi in spirit and practice.
