The 79th Independence Day was celebrated in a befitting and patriotic manner at Group Centre, CRPF, Pune, with a series of ceremonial and cultural events reflecting the spirit of freedom and unity.

The celebrations commenced with floral tributes to the Martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial, paying homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. Senior officers, and jawans from GC and other offices located in the campus gathered to remember their valour and reaffirm the commitment to uphold their legacy.

Following the homage, DIG Shri Vaibhav Nimbalkar, IPS, hoisted the National Flag at the Quarter Guard amidst the chanting of patriotic slogans and the resonance of the National Anthem. In his address to the Officers, Subordinate Officers, and jawans, he emphasized the role of CRPF as the “Sentinels of the Nation,” highlighting the sacrifices, dedication, and professionalism of the Force in safeguarding the country’s unity and integrity.

An ‘At Home’ function was organized thereafter, in which Subordinate Officers, following the rich tradition of the Force, warmly invited the Gazetted Officers and hosted them. All ranks had lunch together, reflecting mutual respect, camaraderie, and the spirit of unity within the Force.

In the evening, a spectacular Band display was held at the historic Gandhi Memorial, Pune. The CRPF Band, with its enchanting musical renditions, mesmerized the gathering of locals and visitors, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. The performance received wide appreciation for its precision, discipline, and emotional connect.

The day’s celebrations concluded with a Bara Khana in all Messes of the Group Centre, where Officers dined together with Subordinate Officers and jawans, symbolizing unity and brotherhood in the Force. The spirit of the occasion was marked by mutual respect, warmth, and pride in the service of the nation.

   

The celebrations at GC Pune not only honoured the sacrifices of the martyrs but also served as a reminder of the commitment and dedication with which the CRPF continues to guard the nation’s frontiers and maintain peace within.
