Jansuraksha Saturation Campaign for Financial Inclusion progressing in Kannur; camp held at Kannapuram panchayat today

As part of the nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services (DFS), the three month long Jansuraksha Saturation Campaign is underway in Kannur District. So far, 38 camps have been organized by various banks  in the district .

As part of this,  a camp was held today at Kannapuram Grama Panchayat, organized by Canara Bank and State Bank of India, Kannapuram Branch .  Smt. Rathi P, President, Kannapuram Grama Panchayat inaugurated the event and Dr. Renjith K S, Lead District Manager, Kannur presided the function. In his  presidential address Dr. Renjith  highlighted the importance of ReKYC, Social Security Schemes, nominations, and related initiatives.  Shri Jayarajan T P, FLC, Kalliassery Block, delivered the welcome address and Shri Babu Raj P, Panchayat Secretary, Shri Anshuman Dey, Regional Head and DGM of Canara Bank and  Smt. Namitha, Manager, SBI FI Wing also addressed the gathering. Shri Anoop Prasannan, Regional Head of State Bank of India, visited the campaign and interacted with the participants. CFL Coordinator Smt. Prajitha Pradeep conducted a session on Social Security Schemes, the Ombudsman Scheme, and Cyber Security.

The district-wide campaign, coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Ranjith K S, Lead District Manager, Kannur, is being held from July 1 to September 30, 2025.The campaign aims to ensure saturation coverage of Financial Inclusion schemes like PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, and KYC re-verification for inactive PMJDY accounts, reaching every eligible citizen at the Gram Panchayat level.  The programme includes structured financial literacy sessions, account opening, insurance and pension enrolments, and awareness drives on digital safety and access to unclaimed deposits. Each camp is conducted in collaboration with various banks and financial institutions, supported by local governance bodies. The Financial Literacy Classes are led by officials from NABARD, RBI, and CFL/FLC teams.
