Three-Month Panchayat-Level Jana Suraksha Campaign Making Progress in Palakkad
Camps have been organized in 34 panchayaths in Palakkad district so far.

As part of the nationwide campaign by the Financial Services Department to improve the comprehensiveness of financial inclusion schemes at the gram panchayath and urban local body levels, the Panchayath-level Jana Suraksha Campaign has been progressing in Palakkad district. So far, 34 panchayats in Palakkad have hosted these camps, bringing crucial banking services closer to the community.
Running until September 30th, the campaign aims to bring banking and social security services directly to the doorstep of residents through organized camps at the gram panchayat level. These camps focus on several key services, including KYC verification for existing Jan Dhan Yojana accounts and other bank accounts, opening new Jan Dhan accounts for unbanked adults, and facilitating enrollment in vital social security schemes. Steps are being taken in the camps to create awareness about unclaimed deposits and resolve complaints.
All banks operating within the district are actively participating, with supervision provided by the lead bank to ensure smooth coordination and implementation.
Key Services Offered at the Camps:
· Free updating and re-verification of KYC details for existing Jan Dhan and other bank accounts, is done free of cost..
· Facilitation of Jan Dhan Yojana account openings for individuals without bank accounts.
· Assistance in enrolling for major government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
· Spreading awareness about unclaimed deposits and promptly addressing customer complaints.
