Rashtriya Raksha University Puducherry Campus conducted first of its kind ‘Certified Emergency Responder’ Training Program

A National Call for Lifesavers in Every Home

A Life Saved. A Nation Inspired. Learning that Responds. Training that Transforms

Moments after completing their final training session, three students from Rashtriya Raksha University’s Puducherry Campus found themselves face-to-face with a real emergency on the way back home. A woman lay injured on the roadside—head trauma, vomiting, disoriented. The crowd stood frozen. The responders didn’t.

Certified just hours earlier, students Deva and Sabari and team sprang into action—assessing vitals, managing the bleeding, contacting her family, and coordinating the arrival of an ambulance through dense traffic. Others from the cohort joined in. Some cleared the road. Some retrieved the stretcher. Some stayed by her side, calmly and confidently offering care.

This wasn’t a drill. It was proof. This is how learning should be: responsive, real-world, and ready.

From 12th to 14th July 2025, Rashtriya Raksha University Puducherry Campus, in collaboration with the International Society for Security Professionals (ISSP), hosted the first-ever Certified Emergency Responder Training Program—a national call to action to put a trained lifesaver in every home, college, and workplace.

Fifty participants were trained and certified in:

Basic Life Safety & First Aid

CPR & AED usage

Fire Safety & Evacuation Protocols

Self-Defense Technique

Cyber Awareness & Crisis Leadership

They also witnessed live emergency demonstrations from IGMCRI, including ambulance-based medical protocols.

The program concluded with a valedictory ceremony on 14th July, where dignitaries including DIG Mr. Dasilla of the Indian Coast Guard and Dr. Udayashankar, Director of IGMCRI, lauded the responders and their readiness to serve.

Mr. John Paul Manickam, Chief Instructor and Emergency Response Expert, shared:

“We’re not just teaching first aid—we’re shaping a national mindset of courage, leadership, and readiness. Every citizen trained is a life potentially saved.”

Certified to Save. Trained to Lead. Built to Respond.

This is not the end—it’s the beginning of a national movement. Rashtriya Raksha University reaffirms its commitment to empowering communities through action-oriented learning, blending knowledge with responsibility.

Because when education saves a life, it changes a nation.
