CBI COORDINATES RETURN OF WANTED FUGITIVE UPAVAN PAVAN JAIN FROM UAE THROUGH INTERPOL CHANNELS

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully coordinated return of Upavan Pavan Jain from UAE through INTERPOL Channels. Upavan Pavan Jain is wanted subject of Gujarat Police.

The International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), CBI in collaboration with NCB-Abu Dhabi, UAE successfully brought back wanted Red Notice subject Upavan Pavan Jain to India on 20th June 2025. Upavan Pavan Jain has returned as deportee at Ahmedabad International Airport, Gujarat from Dubai, UAE. The subject was earlier geo-located in UAE through close follow up by CBI through INTERPOL with NCB-Abu Dhabi.
The subject is wanted by Gujarat Police in a case registered at Adazan Police Station, Surat, Gujarat on the allegations of cheating by personation, dishonestly inducing delivery of property, forgery of valuable security, and criminal conspiracy.
The accused Upavan Pavan Jain had conspired with the co-accused to forge documents and cheat the complainant. The subject, who was working as real estate agent at the time showed 4 different properties to the complainant and managed to convince the complainant to buy the properties through him. He made his accomplices take up dummy identity of actual property owners and on the basis of forged identity documents opened bank accounts in the name of actual property owners. The subject defrauded the complainant to the tune of Indian Rupees 3,66,73,000/-.
CBI got the Red Notice published against the subject on 06.03.2023 through INTERPOL on the request of Gujarat Police. The accused Upavan Pavan Jain was arrested in UAE and Extradition Request was sent to UAE through MHA/MEA.
Red Notices published by INTERPOL are circulated to all the Law Enforcement Agencies globally for tracking of the wanted Fugitives.
CBI as the National Central Bureau for INTERPOL in India coordinates with all Law Enforcement Agencies in India through BHARATPOL for assistance via INTERPOL channels. More than 100 wanted criminals have been returned to India in last few years through coordination via INTERPOL channels.
