Khadi and Village Industries Commission Disburses Margin Money Subsidy


Rs 116 crore disbursed to South Indian States including Kerala

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, distributed margin money subsidy of Rs 300 crore to 11,480 service sector beneficiaries across the country under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) through an virtual event on 17th June 2025. The subsidy was disbursed against loan sanction worth Rs 906 crore. Shri Manoj Kumar, Chairman, KVIC, transferred the subsidy to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries online at the programme held at Rajghat office in New Delhi. All six regions of the country actively participated in this subsidy distribution programme. Subsidy of Rs. 116 crore was disbursed for 4565 projects in the southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, and loans of over Rs. 343 crore were sanctioned for these projects.

Speaking at the subsidy disbursal, Shri Manoj Kumar said that the vision of 'Self-reliant and Developed India' is being embraced under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the PMEGP scheme has become its strong pillar. He opined that the scheme is not limited to providing financial assistance but has become a social movement connecting lakhs of youth, women and artisans with self-employment and entrepreneurship. Ms. Roop Rashi, CEO, KVIC and other senior officials of the Central Office were present on the occasion.
