Media delegation from Assam and Meghalaya heads to Mumbai for WAVES 2025

A four-member media delegation from Assam and Meghalaya departed today for Mumbai to participate in WAVES 2025—the inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit. Organized by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) this four-day media tour offers regional journalists an opportunity to engage with national and international leaders in the media and entertainment sector. The summit will be held at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, 2025.

The delegation, comprising journalists from both print and electronic media, includes representatives from Northeast Live, Pratidin Time, Dainik Janambhoomi, and The Shillong Times. The team is led by Ms. Barnali Mahanta, Media and Communication Officer, PIB Guwahati. During their stay from April 30 to May 3, the delegation will attend various sessions and events that are part of the summit.

 


WAVES 2025, hosted by the Government of India, marks a significant milestone for the Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector. The summit aims to spotlight India’s creative prowess and its evolving role as a global hub for content development and technological innovation. Key focus areas include broadcasting, print and digital media, television, radio, films, animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, sound and music, advertising, generative AI, and immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR).
