PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY SIGNS MoU WITH TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY, USA

Pondicherry University and Texas State University, USA, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant milestone in fostering international academic and research collaboration. The agreement aims to promote dual degree programs, student and faculty exchanges and co-hosted academic events across various disciplines.

Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Director (Studies), Pondicherry University, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership, stating that it aligns with the university’s aspiration to strengthen global academic linkages. “This MoU reflects our commitment to internationalization in higher education and opens up enriching opportunities for cross-cultural learning and collaborative research,” he said.

Representing Texas State University, the Dean Prof. Sanjay Ramachander from the McCoy College of Business expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He described the signing as a “Red Letter Day” and praised Pondicherry University as a partner with shared academic vision and values. Dr. Seth Frei, Assistant Dean at the McCoy College of Business, shared his positive experience interacting with PU students and highlighted how such collaborations can significantly enhance student outcomes and career prospects.

In his address, Prof. S. Victor Anandkumar, Dean (International Relations), Pondicherry University, spoke about the university’s expanding global outreach and the similarities and potential synergies with TSU as a public university catering to a large number of first-generation learners among its student population. He underlined that this partnership would enable exposure to global best practices and ensure that PU remains competitive in the changing global education landscape.

Prof. Daniel Lazar, MoU Coordinator and faculty member of the Department of Commerce, elaborated on the inclusive scope of the agreement. “This is a university-wide MoU designed to benefit all departments and schools at Pondicherry University. Its core focus lies in joint academic programs and mobilities for both students and faculty.”

Prof. P. Natarajan, Dean - School of Management and Head - Department of Commerce, expressed his delight at this development, highlighting the potential impact the partnership will have across the university's academic landscape.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by faculty and representatives from both institutions. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in advancing academic exchange between India and the United States, laying the foundation for a vibrant, knowledge-driven partnership.
