The Media & Entertainment Association of India (MEAI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will be organising WAM! (WAVES Anime & Manga Contest) in G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering in Hingana Nagpur on 25th of March Tuesday between 9 am to 6 PM.

After a series of successful editions in Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Delhi, and Mumbai, WAM! continues its mission of fostering India’s creator economy and promoting homegrown talent in anime, manga, and webtoon under the Create in India initiative.

The event is expected to attract hundreds of talented artists, animators, and content creators eager to compete and showcase their skills in the Manga, Webtoon, and Anime categories, alongside thrilling Cosplay competition.

WAM! Nagpur will be judged by an esteemed panel of industry leaders which includes Mr Sushil Bhasin – CMD, Bhasin Group & President, Media & Entertainment Association of India, Mr Arpit Dubey – CEO, Kayra Animation Pvt Ltd & Co-Chairman, MP AVGC-XR Media and Entertainment Association and Mr Nilesh Patel – CEO, Nilesh Patel Animation Studio & Vertical Director, MP AVGC-XR Media and Entertainment Association.

Their expertise and experience will provide valuable insights, feedback, and recognition to India’s rising stars in animation, gaming, and digital storytelling.

Participants will compete in the following categories:
•    Manga (Japanese-style comics)
•    Webtoon (digital comics)
•    Anime (Japanese-style animation)
•    Cosplay Competition

Beyond the competitions, attendees will gain exclusive insights into India’s emerging anime and manga industry, interact with leading professionals, and explore new opportunities in the growing AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics & Extended Reality) sector.

WAM! is a flagship event under WAVES (World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit – https://wavesindia.org/), India’s largest platform for AVGC-XR and media industries. By bringing WAM! to multiple cities, MEAI aims to catalyze Intellectual Property (IP) creation and mainstream anime and manga culture in India.
