The 3rd NIELIT International Conference on Communication, Electronics, and Digital Technologies (NICEDT 2025) has been inaugurated today, February 14, 2025 at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Ropar, Punjab. The conference, which spans two days, brings together a diverse group of researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students from across the globe to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration in cutting-edge Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology (IECT) fields.
The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, who in his keynote address emphasized the importance of technological innovation for societal growth. He said that by such conferences, meetings or thought-provoking discussions, we try to catch up with the target of empowering every individual human being.
First Vice-Chancellor of NIELIT Deemed to be University and DG NIELIT, Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi highlighted emerging opportunities and challenges in the technology landscape, and NIELIT’s pivotal role. He informed that NIELIT aims for the students to start making products during their under graduate studies and that NIELIT has already worked on it and collaborated with Intel and set up an IndiaAI Lab in Noida. “After its grand success, NIELIT is going to set up such 27 more IndiaAI labs pan India, which will be a hub for AI training in the country. NIELIT is also going to launch a specially designed B.Tech program along with Intel, in AI next year. In the field of electronics, NIELIT has already signed a MoU with Tata Electronics and designed a program for their OSAT facility in Guwahati. NIELIT is setting up its University campus beside industry to facilitate students' ease of on-job industrial training. NIELIT is opening its campus near industry hubs in Guwahati, Tirupati, and Bhubaneswar. NIELIT has also signed a MoU with Skyoot Aerospace pvt. Ltd and going to provide skilled manpower to cater for their needs in the field of aerospace.”
DC, Ropar Shri Himanshu Jain underlined that through such conferences we come to know about the latest tools developed using various technologies by the students, authors, and researchers to improve the capabilities of the individuals. He conveyed that it is always a pleasure to attend such conferences as they provide information on the latest happenings in Digital Arena. He mentioned that he himself uses data visualization tools on the data generated by different domains or departments including health, education, Anganwadi, etc.

Discussion on Public-Private Partnerships: A thought-provoking session on "The Role of Public-Private Partnerships in Digital Inclusion" fostered meaningful dialogue and proposed collaborative strategies for digital inclusion.
Research Presentations: More than 120 research papers are being presented during the two-day conference. Over 60 research papers were presented across various technical tracks on day 1, covering:
o Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics
o Cyber Security, Forensics, Network and Mobile Security
o Advanced Computing—Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, and Quantum Computing
o Blockchain and Web Technologies
o VLSI, Semiconductors, Electronic Systems, IoT, Microwave, Antenna, and Communication
o Digital Technologies for Future Applications
o Assistive Technology for Divyangjan
o Strategy for Digital Skilling for Building a Global Future-Ready Workforce
Interactive Sessions and Networking Opportunities: Participants actively engaged in discussions and formed connections for future research collaborations.
Industry and NIELIT Exhibitions: Stalls showcasing cutting-edge technologies from various industries, regional sponsors, and NIELIT centers were on display, attracting significant attention.

Day Two of NICEDT-2025 promises more engaging sessions, including panel discussion on “Workforce Transformation: Impact of AI on Jobs”, and additional research presentations. The conference continues to emphasize the importance of digital innovation, sustainable technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping the future of IECT.
