"Master the Art of Storytelling and Influence the Future" - An amazing session on storytelling and preparing a stellar pitch deck held at NFDC, Mumbai


Animation students learn the fine art of storytelling in a workshop as a part of the WAVES - CREATE IN INDIA COMPETITION

A workshop called "Master the Art of Storytelling and Influence the Future" was held at the JB Hall in National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Mumbai today (February 5th, 2025). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in partnership with Dancing Atoms, organized the workshop aimed to empower India's next generation of creative storytellers. Visual Storyteller, Writer, Director and Creative Producer Saraswathi Vani Buyyala, who is the Founder Dancing Atoms Studios, conducted the workshop with students of animation film making. The event was attended by numerous students who engaged in discussions about their own projects and received valuable feedback from industry professionals. 

The workshop focused on using AI and animation tools for story-telling and creating compelling characters. The master storyteller inspired the students to tell authentic Indian stories and 'Create In India - For India and for the World'. Writer-director Saraswathi Buyyala conducted this workshop and took everyone on this transformative journey to turn their creative visions into captivating narratives that will resonate with audiences and industry leaders alike. The session covered key aspects of crafting compelling narratives, including structuring stories, understanding universal emotions, and developing effective pitches for investors and producers. Discussions emphasized the importance of daily writing practice, the need for meaningful stories that resonate with audiences, and the power of universal emotions in connecting with viewers. The workshop also addressed the current state of animation in India, highlighting the need for increased support for budding filmmakers, greater integration between the film industry and visual effects students, and more platforms for showcasing Indian animated films.

The participants, who are budding animation film-makers, discussed the importance of creating original content, building audiences through platforms like YouTube and social media, and fostering a collaborative environment within the animation community. 

The workshop is a part of the WAVES - CREATE IN INDIA COMPETITION - WAVES AFC MASTERCLASSES  initiative to bring together students from various institutions, future leaders and storytellers, to explore the intersection of  Animation, design virtual production, AR - VR and games . The workshop encouraged students to embrace experimentation, prioritize entertainment value, and leverage their skills to create impactful stories.

This initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the "Create in India" campaign, fostering a thriving creative ecosystem within the country. 

Several competitions are currently open to support and promote Indian talent.
