The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the national standards body of our country, authorized under the BIS Act 2016 to formulate Indian standards for products, processes, and services across various sectors of the economy. It is also responsible for developing and implementing conformity assessment schemes, which include quality certification to ensure the implementation of standards. BIS has taken a commendable initiative to create awareness about quality by establishing "Standards Clubs" in educational institutions, involving teachers and students as members. Through various activities conducted under these clubs, young talents get opportunities to learn about quality and standardization. BIS has successfully achieved the ambitious goal of establishing 10,000 Standards Clubs across India.

BIS Ahmedabad regularly organizes various programs for different stakeholders, such as Standards Club members, district administration officials, and officers from various government  departments. These programs aim to ensure quality across different schemes and enhance their effective implementation.

As part of a special initiative to enhance students' knowledge and provide them with practical experience, BIS Ahmedabad organized an exposure visit on 04 February 2025 for 240 students from standard clubs of 11 schools in Panchmahal district to Amul Panchamrut Dairy, Godhra. Panchmahal.

On this occasion, representatives from BIS Ahmedabad, provided detailed information to students about BIS's functions, the necessity of standards, and their importance. They explained how BIS-defined standards ensure product quality. They highlighted that BIS determines the right standards. conducts testing, provides licensing, and enforces compliance to ensure that consumers receive quality products meeting proper standards across the country.
