The 76^th Republic Day of the nation was celebrated by Western Railway with unfurling of the National Flag by Shri Ashok Kumar Misra, General Manager of Western Railway at Mahalaxmi Sports Ground, Mumbai. The GM also inspected the ceremonial parade and took the salute of the March Past. Shri Misra addressed the gathering by extending greetings of this solemn occasion to the Railwaymen and their families. At the start of the function, GM Shri Ashok Kumar Misra was welcomed by Shri Ajoy Sadany, IG cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner of Western Railway. Smt. Kshama Misra, President of Western Railway’s Women Welfare Organization, Shri Prakash Butani, Additional General Manager (AGM) of Western Railway, Principal Heads of Departments alongwith other senior railway officers were also present.

In his Republic Day Message, General Manager Shri Misra briefed the gathering about the recent achievements & milestones accomplished by Western Railway. The GM commended the entire WR Team for receiving the prestigious Efficiency Shields for outstanding performance in the year 2024. Shri Misra, while concluding his address exhorted the employees to strive harder with renewed zeal and dedication to attain the goals for Viksit Bharat.

On this auspicious occasion, Smt. Kshama Misra - President of Western Railway Women's Welfare Organization (WRWWO) donated several utility items to Jagjivan Ram Hospital (JRH) of Western Railway, such as Attendant Bed convertible to Chair for the benefit of Nursing Mothers in Neonatal ICU, Gravy Machine/Pulveriser for kitchen & Water Purifiers as well as Tea/Coffee Flasks for wards, which was handed to Dr. Mamta Sharma, Medical Director of Jagjivan Ram Hospital. Thereafter, GM Shri Ashok Kumar Misra & President WRWWO - Smt. Kshama Misra visited JR Hospital. On this occasion, the newly renovated reception area of JRH was inaugurated by Smt Kshama Misra, in the presence of GM, AGM, PCMD – Smt Konda Anuradha, MD – JRH and other senior railway officials.

The function was followed by a Dog Squad Show by RPF and cultural programmes with several patriotic songs & dance performance on this occasion.
