National Museum of Indian Cinema to Celebrate 6th Anniversary with a Spectacular Day Dedicated to Children

Mumbai, January 17, 2025

The National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC), under the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), is delighted to celebrate its 6th anniversary on 19 January with a special day dedicated to children. On this occasion, the museum will offer free entry to all children aged 13 and below.

The day is packed with exciting activities, competitions, and screenings designed to inspire creativity and a love for cinema among young minds.

Schedule of Events

            •          1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Museum Tour

A guided journey through the NMIC’s remarkable exhibits, showcasing the evolution and milestones of Indian cinema.

            •          2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Paint Your Canvas

A creative art session inviting children aged 13 and below to imagine and express their vision of “How I Imagine the Film Museum.”

            •          3:30 PM: Awards Ceremony

The winners of the “Paint Your Canvas” session will be felicitated by Aanchal Munjal, a celebrated actress known for her work in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films.

            •          3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: A Special Live Orchestra Performance & Film Screening: Kaliya Mardan

Experience a unique live orchestra performance by visually-impaired artistes from Shreerang Charitable Trust, led by Dr. Sumeet Patil. Accompanying the silent film Kaliya Mardan (1919), this inclusive performance brings the charm of early cinema to life.

            •          4:30 PM Onwards: Film Screening: Pappu ki Pagdandi

Conclude the celebration with a screening of Pappu ki Pagdandi, a heartwarming tale that resonates with young audiences.
