Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standards Body of our country mandated under the BIS Act 2016 to formulate Indian Standards for Products, Processes and Services covering different sectors of economy and is also responsible for devising and implementing Conformity Assessment Schemes, which involve quality certification to monitor the implementation of the standards.

Jewellers Awareness Programme was organized by BIS Ahmedabad on 23 December 2024 at Dungarpur district in Rajasthan. The programme was conducted at Jodhpur Palace Hotel, Dungarpur which was attended by 125 jewellers of Dungarpur.

Shri Sanjeev Sharma and Shri Aman Rajput, BIS Hallmarking Representatives, BIS Ahmedabad informed about the BIS Hallmarking Scheme, guidelines and delivered detailed presentation on how to obtain BIS Hallmarking registration and how to apply for HUID through BIS Portal during the programme. Participants were also informed about the BIS Care app.
Awareness programme was organized on the eve of National Consumer Day i.e 24 December 2024 to create awareness among jewellers regarding hallmarking as Dungarpur District has recently added to Mandatory Hallmarking Districts w.e.f 05th November 2024.
