Dr Mansukh Mandaviya to Launch Fit India Cycling Tuesdays; Navdeep Singh, Paralympic Gold Medalist to Join SAI RC Gandhinagar Event

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will flag off the 'Fit India Cycling Tuesdays' initiative on December 17 in New Delhi. On the same day, the cycling event will be organised at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre in Gandhinagar.
Gandhinagar's event will witness Navdeep Singh, Paralympic Gold Medalist, leading a 3 kilometer cycling joy ride to Swarnim Park. The event will feature elite athletes from RC Gandhinagar including athletes of Handball and Kabaddi among other disciplines, alongside local fitness enthusiasts and sports lovers.
Tuesday's event at the SAI RC Gandhinagar will showcase the region's commitment to promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and a form of exercise. Participants will from SAI Centre to Swarnim Park and back.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is conducting these events in direct collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), MY Bharat, SAI regional centres, National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs), Khelo India centres (KICs), and district administrations.
The Fit India Cycling Tuesdays initiative will spread to over 1000 venues across India on December 17, with simultaneous events happening across SAI regional centres. Following the launch, cycling events will continue every Tuesday nationwide.
The Fit India movement, launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2019, is the fundamental program which chalks out the pathway for India becoming a sports superpower. The movement focuses overall on the health aspect, sports aspect, and promotion of indigenous games of the country.
