WAVES Summit 2025 to Showcase Cutting-Edge Innovation, Global Collaboration, and Artistic Talent: Sh Pritam Singh

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is set to host the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) from February 5 to 9, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. To promote the event, the Ministry has launched an extensive outreach campaign featuring roadshows in 28 cities across India. The campaign also includes international promotions at events in the United States, South Korea, and Japan.

As part of the WAVES awareness campaign, the Press Information Bureau teams from Chandigarh and Shimla organized a seminar at Shoolini University during its annual Media Fest. A roadshow was also held on this occasion, with enthusiastic participation from students who carried banners and encouraged people to take part in the initiative.  

  

 

 

 Director, PIB Shimla, Sh. Pritam Singh, , briefed students about the Create in India Challenge, highlighting it as an excellent opportunity to gain exposure, mentorship, and professional growth while making a positive impact. He emphasized that students across India can participate in 27 challenges spanning animation, gaming, comics, film, generative AI, broadcasting, and more. He noted that WAVES

bridges the gap between emerging talent and industry professionals, offering students and amateur creators a platform to connect with experts. The WAVES Summit 2025, a first-of-its-kind global event, will span the entire media and entertainment sector with a focus on four pillars: Broadcasting and Infotainment, Digital Media, Films, and Animation & Visual Effects (AVGC). The five-day summit will feature keynote sessions by global leaders, vibrant exhibitions, and cutting-edge pavilions showcasing the latest media technologies.

Experience cutting-edge innovation, global collaboration, and artistic excellence in New Delhi. This five-day extravaganza will feature landmark events, including thought-provoking sessions with global industry leaders, dynamic exhibitions, and state-of-the-art pavilions highlighting the latest advancements in media technology.

The event's Chief Guest, Sh. Ashish Khosla, President of Innovation and Learning at Shoolini University, highlighted key initiatives like the WAVES Accelerator, fostering buyer-seller interactions, and the Create in India Challenge to nurture budding talent. Cultural programs, including Sanskrit events, will celebrate global art forms. Designed to inspire youth, students, and industry leaders, WAVES promotes collaboration within India’s creative sectors, amplified by a robust digital strategy and partnerships with educational institutions. 

Prof. Vipin Pubby, Director of the School of Media and Communication at Shoolini University, stated, "Practical training is essential for holistic learning in today's world. Events like these provide students with a platform to apply their classroom knowledge, while also helping them network with media professionals and industry experts."

Sh. Ahmad Khan, Media and Communication Officer, PIB Chandigarh, delivered an insightful presentation to the students, detailing the functioning of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that information reaches the last mile through its comprehensive outreach programs, conducted by various departments. Emphasizing the significance of WAVES 2025, Sh. Khan described it as more than just a summit—it is a transformative platform celebrating innovation, creativity, and global collaboration. He underscored the Ministry’s strategic initiatives and extensive partnerships to position India as a global leader in the creative economy. WAVES 2025 is set to inspire and connect the next generation of creators with established professionals, reinforcing India's status as a creative powerhouse on the world stage.

During the Media Fest, students and film enthusiasts from various institutions showed strong interest in WAVES. Many actively registered for the Create in India Challenge Season 1 via QR codes on promotional materials and the official website.
