In line with the vision of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to empower the people of India through social service schemes, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd, under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) at a formal ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. This collaboration aims to ensure greater participation from last-mile beneficiaries.
Empowering traders and citizens
This strategic partnership seeks to empower traders and citizens across India by facilitating their registration under various social security schemes, including:
- National Pension System (NPS)
- Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana
- Atal Pension Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme
- DigiPay Sakhi
- Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana
As part of the initiative, CSC SPV will organize dedicated camps in collaboration with CAIT to directly connect traders and the public with these schemes. This effort aims to secure the financial future of millions while streamlining access to government welfare programs.
On the occasion, CAIT Secretary General and MP from Chandni Chowk, Shri Praveen Khandelwal, said: “This MoU marks a transformative step in empowering India’s trading community. Small traders have long been the backbone of our economy, yet many have faced challenges in accessing government welfare schemes due to limited awareness and accessibility. This partnership between CSC and CAIT ensures these essential schemes—ranging from pensions to entrepreneurial support—reach every corner of the country, especially grassroots traders.”
CAIT National President, Shri B.C. Bhartia, added: “With the extensive reach of CSC’s digital infrastructure and CAIT’s vast network of over 9 crore traders, this initiative not only secures the financial future of millions but also fosters a more inclusive and socially empowered trading community. This partnership reflects the government’s vision of financial inclusion and will play a significant role in building a stronger, self-reliant India.”
Shri Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director and CEO of CSC e-Governance, remarked:“With nearly 6 lakh VLEs, CSC’s 15-year journey showcases the strength of community-driven, non-governmental service delivery for social upliftment. Our mission is to transform lives in remote areas by empowering local communities. This MoU further reinforces CSC’s role in advancing social empowerment.”
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior officials of CSC SPV, representatives from CAIT, and other dignitaries, underscoring their shared commitment to uplifting India’s trading community through technology-driven and socially impactful initiatives.
CSC SPV, a pivotal player in the Digital India Mission, operates nearly 6 lakh CSCs nationwide. These centers act as a backbone for India’s digitally and financially inclusive ecosystem, bridging the gap between government schemes and remote areas.
CAIT, representing over 9 crore traders nationwide through more than 48,000 trade federations and associations, is deeply committed to the welfare and growth of the trading community and other business beneficiaries. This MoU aligns with CAIT’s mission to provide comprehensive social and financial security, further strengthening their economic contributions.
