Shri. Peeyush Narayan Sharma assumed charge as Controller General (I/c) Indian Bureau of Mines on Wednesday. Indian Bureau of Mines Headquartered in Nagpur is a subordinate office under Ministry of Mines, Government of India.

Shri P.N. Sharma had started his journey at IBM in 1997 as Assistant Controller of Mines. Shri Sharma showed his acumen and sharp technical knowledge in shaping numerous projects in IBM. Notable among them were Technical Consultancy assignments; Sustainable Development Framework; Initiatives with futuristic vision in the fields of Developing Star-rating templates, Sustainable Mining practices, Development of online portals, Development of online templates for processing of Mining Plans, overhauling the activities of the Mining Tenement System etc. 

As thorough mining professional, Shri Sharma conceptualized and enabled the development and adoption of Space Technology in the field of mining where after IBM made forays by engaging with National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC) at Hyderabad in monitoring mining activities using Satellite. 

IBM under the spirited leadership of Shri P.N. Sharma would aim to notch several heights in the field of Mining & Mineral Development activities of the Country.
