Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav Reviews Progress of Postal Services in Rajkot Region, Emphasizes Universal Reach and Achievement of Targets

Department of Posts has maintained the relevance and reliability of the world's largest postal network through its dedication and innovative technology in the modern era of the information revolution. In his changing era, post offices are significantly contributing to financial inclusion, Digital India, and Antyodaya. Due to the vast network, reliability, accessibility, and seamless communication of Department of Posts, various welfare schemes are reaching the last person in society. These remarks were expressed by the Postmaster General, Saurashtra and Kutch Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, while presiding over a review meeting at the Regional Office, Rajkot, which included discussions on the performance of Divisional Superintendents and Managers of India Posts Payment Bank.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that in addition to various means of communication, postal services are also providing banking, insurance, and other services. Many essential aspects of people's lives are still connected to post offices. From letters, money orders, parcels, newspapers, medicines, prasad of temples, Ganga water, as well as important documents like Aadhaar cards, passports, PAN cards, driving licenses, voter ID cards, bank cheque books, and ATM cards, continue to reach people through post offices. From ‘Dakiya Dak Laya’ to ‘Dakiya Bank Laya’, in the 'Aharnisham Sevamhe' journey, important changes are taking place every day in the role of postal workers. Products from One District One Product (ODOP), Geographical Indications (GI), and MSMEs are reaching international markets through Dakghar Niryat Kendras, strengthening the concepts of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ Pensioners are being provided the facility of digital life certificates at door step. In this era of the Information and Communication Technology revolution, post offices continue to carve new dimensions with their transformative image.

Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, conducted a detailed review of the progress of postal services in the Rajkot region. Currently, there are over 45.5 lakh savings accounts, 9.65 lakh India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) accounts, 3.97 lakh Sukanya Samriddhi accounts, and 39,000 Mahila Samman Savings certificates opened in Saurashtra and Kachchh region. 426 villages have been covered as 'Sampoorna Sukanya Samriddhi Grams, 740 villages covered as Sampoorna Bima Grams,' and 16 villages designated as Five Star Villages. Through the Passport Seva Kendra, over 43,000 people have obtained passports in this financial year. More than 1.55 lakh people have availed of Aadhaar services through the post office, while over 1.64 lakh people have benefited from CELC through India Post Payments Bank. Over 43,000 people have received a total payment of ₹20.5 crores through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) at door step.

During the review, Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasized the importance of conducting an extensive campaign in the remaining months of the financial year to achieve the allotted targets for various services. He also highlighted the need to connect the citizens with these services, ensure prompt resolution of public grievances, and responsiveness towards customers.

On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Post offices of Rajkot Division, Shri S.K. Bunkar, Assistant Director of Regional office Shri R.R. Virda, Shri J.K. Hingorani, Shri K.S. Thakkar,  Senior Postmaster Shri Abhijeet Sinh,  Superintendent of Bhavnagar Division Shri D.H. Tapasvi, Superintendent of Gondal Division Shri K.S. Shukla, Superintendent of Junagadh Division Shri A.H. Chavda, Superintendent of Porbandar Division Shri R.J. Patel, Superintendent of Surendranagar Division Shri S.R. Mistry, Accountant Officer Shri Jugal Kishore, IPPB Regional Manager Shri Rajeev Kumar were present and many other officers were present.
