The Department of Post has launched a national-level Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Campaign on the theme ‘The joy of writing: Importance of Letters in a Digital age’ for the public. The participants can write the letter expressing their views on the subject addressing to the SSPO, Mumbai, South Division, Mumbai-400001.

The campaign, launched on 14.09.2024 will continue till 14.12.2024. Letters posted after 14.12.2024 will not be accepted.

The letter can be written either in English or Hindi or any vernacular language. The competitions are being held for two age groups – participants up to 18 years of age and those who are above 18 years of age. The letters can be submitted either in Inland Letter Card category or Envelope category. 

The first, second, and three prize winners in each category at Circle level will receive Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 5,000 respectively while the top three winners at the national level round will be given Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 10,000 respectively. The entries shortlisted at the Circle level will be considered for the competition at the national level round.

The letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper with a word limit of not more than 1000 words under envelope category, and in Inland Letter Card category, the word limit is 500. Only handwritten letters will be accepted.

The embossed envelope or envelope with required stamp affixed and Inland Letter Card will be the permitted stationery for participating in the campaign. The Envelope/Inland letter should be superscribed as “DHAI AKHAR Letter”.

The participants should also give a certificate of proof of their age on the letter such as “I certify that I am below/above the age of 18 as on 01/01/2024”. 

The final result at circle level will be declared by 23.01.2025.
