The Indian Maritime University (IMU) will hold  its 9^th Convocation on Monday, 7 October 2024 at its Semmencherry premises , Chennai. The event will be graced by Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, IFS (Retd.), Former Foreign Secretary of India and Ambassador to the USA, as the Chief Guest.

This prestigious occasion will see a total of 1,974 students from IMU’s four Schools across six campuses, along with affiliated institutes, being conferred their degrees. The list includes four Ph.D. scholars and one MS (by Research) scholar.

IMU, headquartered in Chennai, was established on 14 November 2008 as a Central University, bringing together seven maritime legacy institutes to provide world-class maritime education, training, and research. Today, the University offers a range of undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D. programs from its campuses in Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam, along with its 17 affiliated Maritime Training Institutes.
