As per the guidelines received from Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, Headquarters New Delhi, Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada for the Year 2024 was organized by National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), Zonal Office and Regional Office, CGO Complex, 3rd Floor, Seminary Hills, Nagpur. Under this, Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada was celebrated from 14th September to 2nd October 2024, during which various programs were organized.  

For starting the campaign,  Srinivas Uppala, Deputy Director General, Zonal Office Nagpur, all the officers/employees of the Zonal and Regional Office Nagpur took the Swachhta pledge.Under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, tree plantation was done by the office staff at various places. Also, Deputy Director General and other officers planted trees in the NSSO Bhawan (Hostel) premises.Under the Swachhata Awareness Campaign, officials guided the students of Nutan College, Umred for building their future in statistics and students took the Swachhata Pledge and also a quiz competition was organised by the officials of NSSO (FOD), Nagpur for students of the college.Essay competition, poetry writing, slogan and Waste to Art etc. competitions based on cleanliness were organized in the office in which officers/employees participated enthusiastically.

   

Under the chairmanship of Shri Srinivas Uppala, Deputy Director General, all the officers/employees of the office left for village Nagardhan, Taluka Ramtek, District Nagpur. First of all, Sarpanch/Deputy Sarpanch of village Nagardhan and other officials of the Panchayat were introduced to Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada and Statistics awareness. Thereafter, watch and jute bag were presented as gifts by the NSSO office to gram panchayat, Nagardhan.

A street play was performed to spread awareness about cleanliness by the officials of NSSO(FOD), Nagpur among the general public of the village. Along with this, cleanliness and plantation of trees were also done around the premises of the Gram Panchayat building. A rally was also taken out in the village for creating awareness about cleanliness.Along with this, the teachers and students of Nandivardhan Junior College of Nagardhan village were administered the oath of cleanliness and the officials of NSSO(FOD), Nagpur planted trees in the school/Junior college premises. Sanitizers and handwash were distributed in the school/Junior college. Watch and jute bag were presented as gifts by the office in the school/Junior college.A cleanliness rally was taken out for 3 km outside the office premises and slogans related to cleanliness were uttered.

  

To conclude the campaign,  prizes were distributed to the winning employees in all the competitions organised by the office.
