Tobacco Cessation Centre inaugurated at AIIMS, Nagpur

The Tobacco Cessation Centre at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, was virtually inaugurated at the hands of Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Sh. Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhao, on 24th September in the august presence of Executive Director, Dr (Prof.) Dr Prashant P. Joshi; Dean (Student Welfare), Dr Siddharth Dubhashi; Associate Dean (Academics), Dr Rasika Gadkari; Joint MS, Dr Nitin Marathe, Addl. Professor, Psychiatry, Dr Suyog V. Jaiswal; Addl. Professor, Community Medicine, Dr Ranjan Solanki and Assistant Professor, Psychiatry, Dr Gaurav Singh.
The Tobacco Cessation Centre will be managed by the Department of Psychiatry in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine. This centre has been launched as part of the Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 2.0 under the National Tobacco Control Programme.

The Tobacco Cessation Centre will provide services across various departments within the institute and extend its reach to the community through collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine.
The centre will offer both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, including medications, counselling services, and ongoing feedback.
