Swachhata Campaign has become a part of regular functions of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and its Organisations/ PSUs/ field offices/ attached and subordinate offices across India.

The Department is again geared up to make Special Campaign 4.0 (2^nd October, 2024- 31^st October, 2024) successful. All Organisations/ PSUs/ Field offices/ Attached and Subordinate offices have been appealed to make this campaign exemplary successful. Pre identification of pendency on MP References, References for State Governments, Inter-Ministerial references, Parliament Assurances, PMO References etc. is to start from 16.09.2024 to 30.09.2024 and thereafter the campaign to start in full vigour in the Department.

The Special campaign 3.0 (2^nd October – 31^st October, 2023) was very successful in the Department. During this short period of campaign, more than 400 campaigns were organised across India. The revenue earned from sale of scrap was Rs.  1.24 Crores and space freed was approx. 1 lakh square feet. The Officers and staff of the Department participated in the campaign wholeheartedly.

The spirit of the campaign has been maintained thereafter. During the period from November, 2023 - August, 2024, the status of the progress on disposal of MP References, State Government References, PMO References, Public Grievances and PG Appeals etc. are as given below:

• Public Grievances addressed: 40,856
• Cleanliness Campaigns: 29
• Space Freed: 2000 Sq. ft.
• MP References: 131
• State Government References: 23
• PMO References: 6
• Files Weeded out: 188

 

For welfare of female employees, the Department is in process of setting up of a Crèche and the place for the same has been identified. For better record management in the Department, compactors have been installed in various Sections in Sanchar Bhawan thereby replacing a substantial number of almirahs resulting into better space management. A modern Gymnasium and a Yoga room have been setup in Sanchar Bhawan with the dedicated timings. Further, a Music/Dance Room and a Recreation club has been setup promoting healthy and positive working environment amongst employees.

Further, few snapshots of some activities by a Field office of this Department i.e. Licensed Service Area (LSA), Assam in November, 2023 is given below so as to highlight the importance of Swachhata and hygiene in organisations under this Department.

 In November, 2023, Assam LSA conducted a Swachhata drive in the office campus, which is a major economic hub of Panbazar area, Guwahati
