Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri. Piyush Goyal was in Mumbai today where he took a review of various developmental projects in the city.

“The resolution to make Uttar Mumbai, Uttam Mumbai has become firmer. We are working in the area of development with a 'Whole of the Government' approach. May it be the field of education, sports, housing or transportation, I am honored to have an opportunity to work on all these issues. “

Shri Piyush Goyal visited the proposed site of the Vedic Park and praised the work done for development of the Park.

   

Later the Minister visited BMC Shatabdi School in Chincholi and interacted with school students. He also interacted with students of Atharva College in Malad West.

Further in the day, after a brief interaction with media persons, Shri Goyal, went on to interact with the Dahisar diamond industry.

   

While interacting with the media, the Minister reiterated that the Government is in favor of online trade and FDI. The Government desires to bring in convenience through technology for ease of living of the people of India. However, such trade should be business based on the law of the land in letter and spirit and should not be used to force consumer preferences. The ratings given on portals should be honest and e - commerce should encourage fair play, he said.
