ساگرمالا بندرگاہوں، جہاز رانی اور آبی گزرگاہوں کی وزارت کی مرکزی سیکٹر اسکیم ہے جو ملک میں بندرگاہ کی قیادت میں ترقی کو فروغ دینے کے لیے ہندوستان کی 7,500 کلومیٹر طویل ساحلی پٹی اور 14,500 کلومیٹر ممکنہ طور پر قابل بحری آبی گزرگاہوں کو استعمال کرتی ہے۔ ساگرمالا اسکیم کے تحت، وزارت بندرگاہوں کے بنیادی ڈھانچے کے پروجیکٹوں، ساحلی برتھ پروجیکٹوں، سڑکوں اور ریل پروجیکٹوں، مچھلیوں کے بندرگاہوں، ہنر مندی کی ترقی کے پروجیکٹوں، ساحلی کمیونٹی کی ترقی، کروز ٹرمینل اور آر او-پی اے ایکس فیری جیسے پروجیکٹوں کے لیے ریاستی/مرکز کے زیر انتظام علاقوں کی حکومتوں کو مالی مدد اورخدمات وغیرہ فراہم کرتی ہے۔ پراجیکٹس کی تعداد، منظور شدہ فنڈز اور پراجیکٹ کی حیثیت ریاست کے لحاظ سے منسلک [ ضمیمہ-I] میں ہے۔
بندرگاہ کی جدید کاری اور کنیکٹیویٹی کے سلسلے میں حیثیت کے ساتھ ساگرمالا اسکیم کے تحت شروع کیے گئے پراجیکٹس کی تفصیلات منسلک ہیں [ ضمیمہ-II]
حکومت کرناٹک کی درخواست کی بنیاد پر، ساگرمالا اسکیم کے تحت وزارت نے ریاست میں مختلف مقامات پر مالی امداد کے لیے بندرگاہ کی جدید کاری، ساحلی جہاز رانی اور آئی ڈبلیو ٹی، اور کوسٹل کمیونٹی ڈیولپمنٹ سے متعلق پروجیکٹوں کو منظوری دی ہے۔ ریاست کرناٹک میں شروع کیے گئے پروجیکٹوں کی تفصیلات منسلک ہیں [ ضمیمہ III]۔
