Ahmedabad GPO Successfully Hosts “Dak Chaupal” on 25th July 2024 inaugurated by Ms. Meeta K Shah, Director of Postal Services, HQ Region, Ahmedabad

The Office of the Chief Postmaster, Ahmedabad GPO organized a “Dak Chaupal” on 25.07.2024 at Dharti Vikas Mandal, Naranpura, Ahmedabad marking its participation in a series of 70 such events to be organized in Head Quarter Region, Ahmedabad. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Director of Postal Service (DPS), HQ Region,  Ms. Meeta K Shah, aiming to foster greater community engagement and enhancing postal services accessibility door to door. On this occasion, Hon’ble Shri Jitendra Patel (Bhagat) - MLA, Naranpura, Ahmedabad, Shri Rameshbhai Patel - Secretary of Shri Patidar Parivar Trust Gujarat Pradesh, Shri Mukesh Tiwari- Principle Tapovan Vidhyalay (CBSE), Naranpura, Ms Pritiben Leuva- CDPO- ICDS and Smt Manjulaben A Patel- Asst Director, Head Quarter region  remained present and graced the function.

Ms. Meeta K Shah has enlightened the audience with the objective of organizing “Dak Chaupal” i.e to connect the last miles of the nation with the concept of Digital India, financial inclusion and Antyodaya. With focus on ‘Bringing the Government Services at Doorsteps’, awareness was spread about many Citizen Centric Services including Financial Services, Insurance, Payments bank services, DBT, Aadhar, e-commerce and Export Services. Welfare schemes of the government and their benefits will also be delivered to the people through post offices. Through IPPB, Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks are working today as a mobile bank. Ms. Meeta K Shah has also distributed the SSA and MSSC Passbooks to the beneficiaries.

All the invited guests expressed keen interest in the role of postal services in fostering connectivity and facilitating essential communications. Addressing the attendees, they emphasized, "Postal services play a vital role in our daily lives, offering reliable means of communication, financial services, and more. They also encouraged everyone to utilize and explore the wide array of services offered by India Post."

On this occasion, Nava Wadaj Ward Councilor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation-Shri Vijaybhai Panchal and Bhavnaben Vaghela, Stadium Ward Councilor-Shri Pradeepbhai Dave and Shri Mukeshbhai Mistry and Smt. Dipalben Patel also Participated in “Dak Chaupal” and encouraged people to get more involved with this initiative of the Postal Department.

On this occasion, Chief Postmaster of Ahmedabad GPO Shri Govind Sharma, Dy Chief Postmaster Shri Ritul Gandhi , Inspector of Post Shri Vipul Chadotara and Smt. Payal Patel and many people including PRIPs ,Marketing Executives were present.
