'Dak Chaupal' organized to connect people with schemes of the government, inaugurated by Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav

Dak Chaupal will be organized at 70 places in North Gujarat to connect people with citizen-centric services - Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav

In order to spread citizen centric welfare schemes of the government and its benefits, the Postal Department organized 'Postal Chaupal' on 20th July in Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad. Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav inaugurated the programme and while distributing passbooks to the beneficiaries of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Mahila Samman Bachat Patra, called for a strong women-rich society. On this occasion, Mr. Ashok Parikh, General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Vikas Palve, Senior Superintendent of Posts Mr. Kapil Mantri, Chief Manager of India Post Payments Bank also graced the function.

Postmaster General Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav said that Dak Chaupal will be organized at 70 places in North Gujarat between July to September to connect the last miles with the concept of Digital India, financial inclusion and Antyodaya. With focus on ‘bringing the Government Services at Doorsteps’, people will be make aware about many citizen centric services including financial services, insurance, payments bank services, DBT, e-commerce and export services. Welfare schemes of the government and their benefits will be delivered to the people through post offices. Through IPPB, postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks are today working as a mobile bank.

Mr.Ashok Parikh, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Ahmedabad highlighted the important role of post offices in financial inclusion. He also made alert about the dangers of cyber fraud in the banking sector.

Senior Superintendent of Post Offices Ahmedabad Mr. Vikas Palve gave detailed information on various schemes of the Postal Department and IPPB Chief Manager Mr. Kapil Mantri about payment bank services.

On this occasion, on spot people took advantage of many financial services including 3105 savings accounts, 225 Sukanya Samriddhi Account, 81 Mahila Samman Savings Certificates, 102 IPPB Accounts including 385 accident insurance scheme.

On this occasion, Navrangpura Ward Councilor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Ashaben Brahmbhatt, Mrs. Vandana Ben Shah, Paldi Ward Councilor Mr. Chetan Bhai Patel, Mrs. Poojaben Dave, Vasna Ward Councilor Mehul Bhai Shah and Sarkhej Ward Councilor Vijaybhai Thakor also Participated in Dak Chaupal and encouraged people to get more involved with this initiative of the Postal Department.

On this occasion,Deputy Superintendent of Post Office, Shri VM Vhora and Senior Postmaster Shri PJ Solanki, Shri S N Gauri,Shri H J Parikh, Shri H G Rathore and Many people including Shri AM Parmar, were present.
