The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat signed a MoU with Larsen &Toubro (L&T). Under this MoU - L & T will support the M. Tech (CAD/CAM) students of SVNIT Surat with a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO).  The MoU was signed by Shri. Anil. V. Parab, the Whole-Time Director & Sr. Executive Vice President (Heavy Engineering & L&T Valves), and Professor Anupam Shukla, Director, SVNIT Surat.

Through this MoU, - L&T intends to collaborate with SVNIT to train industry-ready young engineers to create Design and Engineering talent pool. This MoU will encourage and fulfill the Hi-tech manufacturing demand for specialists in the field of Design & Engineering.  The MoU will be effective for the students admitted from 2024-26 batch. On completion of the M. Tech Program, L&T Sponsored students will continue their employment with L&T as a Post Graduate Engineer Trainee (PGET). L&T will select and sponsor the first semester students, as per the-qualifying norms stipulated by L&T. The selected students will be paid Pocket Allowance and tuition fee for the entire course duration. As a part of the curriculum, all L&T-sponsored students will undergo customized training/ project work, at L&T's Heavy Engineering’s Manufacturing facility at Hazira.

In addition under this MoU few projects will undertaken to automate Computer aided designs & improve overall Engineering productivity.
