Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on Thursday that the state is committed to achieving success in the field of quality adoption. He was speaking at the inaugural of Gunvatta Sankalp Gujarat, an initiative of the Quality Council of India (QCI) aimed at focusing on critical quality interventions across priority sectors in Gujarat.

Addressing the inaugural session of Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp, the Gujarat Chief Minister emphasised that quality was a largely ignored term in India until a few years ago, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving towards quality.

“Be it Make in India, Digital India or Atmanirbhar Bharat, every movement Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken has seen significant progress. We are focused on quality and I am confident that we will also achieve 100% success in making it the cornerstone of development,” he said.

He further said that Gujarat has accelerated progress in building Viksit Gujarat under the 5G model, which stands for Garvu Gujarat, Gunvantu Gujarat, Green Gujarat, Global Gujarat, and Gatishil Gujarat.

“Let us add one more G, which stands for Gunvatta (quality) in this 5G Gujarat model,” he said.

In his address, QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah noted that the historic Salt March began from Ahmedabad, and with the Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp, the Quality March is also beginning from the city.

“Ahmedabad is my city, the place where I first learned the fundamentals of quality. Today, as the Chairman of the Quality Council of India, I am filled with immense pride and emotion to host Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp in Ahmedabad. Aligned with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of enhancing the quality of life for every Indian, this Sankalp aims to embed the principles of quality in every facet of life, livelihood, and industry in Gujarat. Together, we will set new benchmarks in quality and excellence, making Gujarat the first Viksit Rajya of Viksit Bharat. This is not just a commitment, but a movement towards a brighter, more prosperous future for all proud Gujaratis,” he said.

Additional Chief Secretary SJ Haider, Gujarat Chief Minister’s Advisor SS Rathore, QCI Chief Advisor Hemgauri Bhandari, ASSOCHAM Gujarat Council Chair Chintan Thaker, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President Ajay Patel, CREDAI President Shekhar Patel, FICCI Gujarat State Council Chairman Rajiv Gandhi, and Founder CMD of Astral Limited Sandip Engineer, were among the dignitaries who graced the inaugural session.

The day-long event also featured sessions on Education and Skilling in Gujarat, Affordable and Quality Healthcare, Future of Industry & MSMEs, Transforming E-commerce through targeted value addition, Making Gujarat a Global hub for Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Quality of Life as the parameter of Success, and the state’s Quality Roadmap.

A host of senior government functionaries, including ministers and bureaucrats, and leading industry representatives participated in the day-long event.

Gunvatta Sankalp is a targeted state engagement initiative, wherein QCI collaborates with states to integrate their growth story into a pan-India quality movement and assist in developmental objectives. It brings together stakeholders across government and industry, fostering enriching debates, addressing bottlenecks, identifying actionable targets, and creating state-specific roadmaps for building an ecosystem of quality. This was the 5th Edition of Gunvatta Sankalp. Earlier editions have been held in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha & Andhra Pradesh.
