IMPCC Meeting stresses on collective efforts towards outreach responses to any instances of crisis communication and containing negative news or misleading information

An Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting convened today at All India Radio, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Organised by Press Information Bureau, Andhra Pradesh, the meeting was chaired by Additional Director General (Region) PIB AP Region, Rajinder Chaudhry. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Rajinder Chaudhry said, IMPCC meeting is convened in order to provide a platform to various organisations under the government for better coordination and sharing of information, as well as, addressing instances of crisis communication and containing negative news. It is also aimed to highlight the various activities and initiatives being undertaken in each of the organisations’ of Central and State media units PSUs, etc. Emphasising on developing a good PR network, he said, better media integration and synergy, will certainly achieve the desired results.

Mr. Chaudhry highlighted the role and functions of Press Information Bureau, Andhra Pradesh with its regional office at Vijayawada and Central Bureau of Communication, AP region, with the mandate to disseminate information to the print and electronic media, on government policies, programmes, initiatives and achievements.  He said, PIB functions as an interface between the Government and the media, and also serves to provide feedback to the Government, on people's reaction as reflected in the media.

He said the purpose of the meeting is to create a comprehensive communication and management strategy among all the stakeholders in government departments, PSUs, Media units, to reach the people with the welfare measures of the government.

Heads and representatives of local Central media units, All India Radio, Doordarshan, DIPR, India Post, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, BHEL, Airports Authority of India, etc., participated in the IMPCC meeting.
