The 5^th Phase of the Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 is taking place today in 49 Parliament Constituencies across 8 States/UTs. 13 constituencies from Maharashtra including the six seats from Mumbai go to polls in the 5th phase of Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 today. The constituencies that witnessed polling are - Mumbai North, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South, Thane, Kalyan, Palghar, Dhule, Dindori, Nashik and Bhiwandi..

Some glimpses of the Voting Day today –

The financial capital saw Governor, RBI, Shri Shaktikanta Das step out to vote early in the morning along with his family.

 

Stars descended on polling stations across the city and exercised their franchise in the festival of democracy.

This election saw themed polling stations created by the Election Commission across various phases of the polls. One such ‘Koli Polling Station’ representing the fisherfolk of Maharashtra at Dahanu. 

 

 

Age did not stop senior citizens who came out to vote enthusiastically in various parts of the city.  The Election Commission had made provisions for auto rikshaws and buses to ferry senior citizens and persons with disabilities to and fro their polling booths to ease the process!

The Election Commission also undertook a special pre poll drive to encourage first time voters even as many of them stepped out to vote today and follow the paths shown by the seniors.

 

Polling stations were ready to welcome the voters with ample shade, drinking water, ramps, toilets and other basic facilities to ensure that polling takes place in a comfortable and secure environment.

The 8 States/UTs that are undergoing polls in phase-5 are: Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
