CBI coordinates return to India of two red notice subjects


CBI provides coordination assistance to Mumbai Police to bring back a wanted subject of various crimes

: New Delhi/ Mumbai, March 23, 2024

The Global Operations Centre of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)has coordinated with INTERPOL NCB – Abu Dhabi; Kerala Police; Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi under Ministry of External Affairs and a Red Notice subject was returned today from UAE to India with a security detail from Kerala Police.

He was earlier geo-located in UAE through close follow up by CBI through INTERPOL. The said Red Notice Subject Mr Peeru Muhammed Yahya Khan is wanted by Kerala Police in case Crime No. 403/2008 of Pala Police Station, Kottayam, Kerala for offences under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and rape. CBI had got a Red Notice issued in this respect from INTERPOL General Secretariat on 10.01.2024, on request from Kerala Police. Red notice was circulated to all INTERPOL member countries for location and arrest of accused. The subject was located in the UAE and in close coordination with INTEROPOL NCB-Abu Dhabi, the subject was returned to India today by a team from Kerala police.

The Global Operations Centre of CBI has also provided coordination assistance to Mumbai Police and Ministry of External Affairs in return to India from China of Mr. Subash Vithal Pujari who was brought back today by a  team of Mumbai Police. The said Red Notice Subject is wanted by Mumbai Police in multiple cases including Crime no. 244/07 and 286/09 of Vikhroli police station and 154/2009 of DCB, CID for offences

including attempt to murder, extortion, criminal intimidation, Arms Act violations and under MCOCA. CBI had got a Red Notice issued in this respect from INTERPOL General Secretariat on 14-

02-2012 and Red notice was circulated to all INTERPOL member countries for location and arrest of accused.

CBI, as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, coordinates with all law enforcement agencies in India for assistance via INTERPOL channels.
