The Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India entered into an umbrella MoU with National Commision for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi to foster collaboration in the area of research, education and training in Siddha Medicine at National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, West Punjabi bagh on 07.03.2024.

The MoU was signed by Vaidya Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, Chairman, NCISM and Prof.Dr. N.J.Muthu kumar, Director General, CCRS in the gracious presence of Dr. K. Jagannathan, President, Board of Unani, Siddha and Sowa-Rigpa, NCISM, Dr. B.S. Prasad, President, Board of Ayurveda, NCISM, Dr. Raghuram Bhatta, President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, NCISM, Dr. B.L. Mehra, Secretary and Dr.S.Mathukumar, Member, Board of Unani, Siddha and Sowa-Rigpa, NCISM and Dr.S.Selvarajan, Research Officer (Siddha) and Sci-IV/DDO, Dr. Eugene Wilson, Research Officer, Dr. Akila, Research Officer (Siddha), were present from CCRS.

On the occcasion, Vaidya Jayant Yeshwant Deopujari, Chairman, NCISM has put forward his valuable inputs and also appreciated the efforts of CCRS and assured full cooperation of CCRS for implementing the objective of the MoU.Prof.Dr. N.J.Muthukumar thanked the Chairman, President and other esteemed members of NCISM and looking forward for mutually productive outcomes through this MoU.

As per the MoU, The NCIS Magreesto endorse Studentship Program for UG Students (STAIRS-UG) as well as PG Students(STAIRS-PG) and any other program implemented by CCRS in future (Research Impregnation to the Teaching Professionals of Healthcare and Medicine in Siddha -RITHAMS), etc. and any other program implemented by CCRS in future. The NCISM and CCRS agrees to conduct joint workshops/ seminars/ conferences/ trainings to promote MoA’s and CCRS’s various schemes/ programmes.

 

This initiative will bring a paradigm shift in Siddha Medical Education and Research, by Motivating students and teachers towards research and peer reviewed publications which will convert the experienced based medicine into evidence based medicine.
