NIT Puducherry has organized "The First Indian Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (I-DRI) 2024"

The Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Puducherry has organized "The First Indian Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (I-DRI) 2024"- An international symposium on 7thand 8thMarch 2024. The occasion was presided over by Chief Patron, Dr. Usha Natesan - Director (i/c) (in absentia), Patron Dr. Sundaravarathan S - Registrar, and Advisor Dr. G.S Mahapatra – Dean (R&C), and Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. SivakumarRamalingam.
The distinguished guests of honour include Prof. Toshiyuki Kanakubo (Division of Engineering Mechanics & Energy, University of Tsukuba, Japan who delivered a speech on "Seismic Assessment of Exiting RC buildings and Damages in 2011 Tohoku Earthquake" and Prof. Shamsher Bahadur Singh, Senior Professor, BITS Pilani, who delivered a speech on "Structural Response of FRP Concrete Shear Connections".

The conference is sponsored by Coalition of Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), Platinum Sponsor, while the Gold Sponsors include Aimil, and Heico, and Instron, silver sponsor includes UTEST ASIA.
In terms of submissions, I-DRI 2024 received a remarkable 110 abstracts from across India. After careful consideration, we have selected 30 papers to be presented during the event. These papers come from esteemed institutions such as NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, NIT Agartala, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, VNIT Nagpur, SVNIT Surat, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, and Hindustan College of Engineering.For the next two days, I-DRI 2024 organized seven sessions to facilitate meaningful discussions and knowledge exchange.
