The SAIL Foundation Day is observed throughout all the units of SAIL with fervor on 24^th January, every year, to commemorate the incorporation of SAIL- the country's largest public steel-producing company, which took place on 24 January 1973. Various events shall mark the SAIL Foundation Day 2024 celebrations at Bhilai Steel Plant and Mines.

Long Service Awards

The executive and non-executive employees of Bhilai Steel Plant, having worked with full commitment, and dedication for the past 25 years shall be felicitated with ‘Long Service Award’ by Steel Authority of India Limited, on the occasion of its Foundation Day. Shri. Anirban Dasgupta, Director-in-charge of Bhilai Steel Plant shall felicitate 666 Plant employees with this Award, in the presence of various Senior Officers of BSP, on 24th January 2024.

Run for SAIL

A 5 Km. long ‘Run for SAIL’ Walk / Run Marathon shall also be organized at Jayanti Stadium, Indira Place (Civic Centre), Bhilai, on 24^th January 2024, at 08:00 AM. Male and Female individuals may take part in this run, in different age categories. The categories are- up to Class 06, from Class 7 to 12, above Class 12 to 45 years, persons between 46 to 60 years of age, and ex-employees of BSP. SAIL employees, their families, wards, ex-employees, and students of schools run by SAIL are eligible to participate in the competition. The Best clocking Male and Female (one each), amongst all SAIL units put together, shall be awarded a cash prize worth Rs.5,000/- each, whereas the best clocking Boy and Girl up to Class 06 (one each), amongst all SAIL units put together, shall be awarded a cash prize worth Rs.3,000/- each.

Art Exhibition at Nehru Art Gallery

A five-day Art Exhibition featuring selected paintings made by the winning participants of the Drawing and Painting competition themed on Safety, organized by the Safety Engineering Department (SED), at Suniti Udyan, Sector-8, on 14^th January 2024, will also be inaugurated at Nehru Art Gallery, Indira Place (Civic Centre), Bhilai on the evening of 24^th January. As many as 1,500 students under six groups, from 40 schools from Bhilai and nearby areas took part in the competition, organized as a part of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s ongoing Safety Awareness Month 2024.

Suresh Wadkar Night

Acclaimed Bollywood playback singer and Padma Shri recipient Shri. Suresh Wadkar and party shall give vocal performances on the Musical Evening- “Suresh Wadkar Night”, being organized by the Sports, Cultural & Civic Amenities Department (SC&CA) on January 24 at the Royal Crystal Garden of Bhilai Club from 7.30 PM. Bhilai Citizens will get an opportunity to witness the enthralling musical performances by Shri. Suresh Wadkar, in this evening, dedicated to music. Entry to this concert is free of cost. It is noteworthy that on 09^th December 2023 also, “Padma Shri Anup Jalota Night” musical evening was organized by Bhilai Steel Plant, where renowned singer, Padma Shri awardee Shri. Anup Jalota mesmerized the people of Bhilai with his popular Bhajans and Ghazals.

Distribution of Assistive Devices

SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department, in association with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), will distribute Assistive Devices to identified Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjans), at Bhilai, Nandini and Patan from 23^rd to 25^th January 2024. A range of Assistive Aid Devices including Tricycles, Motorized Tricycles, Smart Canes, Smartphones, Knee Braces, Hearing Aids, and similar devices shall be distributed to the beneficiaries who were identified earlier at Test Camps held at Patan, Nandini, Ahiwara, and Bhilai and adjoining areas. Assistive Devices Distribution camps shall be held at BSP Nandini Hospital, Nandini-Ahiwara on 23^rd January 2024 at 10:00 AM, at Mahatma Gandhi Kala Mandir, Indira Place (Civic Centre) Bhilai, on 24^th January 2024 at 10:00 AM, and on 25^th January 2024, at 10:00 AM, Assistive Devices will be distributed at Dewangan Samaj Bhawan, Patan respectively.
