Union Minister for Sports and  Youth Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has said that Youth Mahakumbh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin from the Kumbh Nagari of Nashik in Maharashtra from tomorrow on the occasion of 27th National Youth Day which is  celebrated on the  occasion of birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. While speaking to reporters in Nashik on the eve of the National Youth Day, he briefed them about the various programmes to be held as the  part of the 27th National Youth Day celebrations all over the country from 12th January to 16th January 2024. He said that Prime Minister will give the  biggest message to more than one lakh youths  at Tapovan in Nashik and display their strength.  He also said  the youths  will pledge to make India a developed country by 2047 that is in the 100th year of the independence of India. He said  this pledge will be by the youths and for the youths and the empowered youth will  make a strong country. The youths who will gather in Nashik will spread the message that the youth of the country will contribute  in this mission and make the country a developed country. He said that the Yuva Mahakumbh is about to begin from the historical city of Nashik. Due to the historical importance of this city the youth attending the event from all the corners of the country will to get an opportunity to understand the history, culture, art and our rich heritage.

While briefing about the events he also cited various initiatives including  Fit India Movement, which were successful with the participation of  the youth of the country. He said that they had collected more than 150 lakh Kilograms plastic waste and this year they will break this record. Therefore the youths play an important role in  various initiatives from health to protection  of environment.
