Food Corporation of India boosts market supply through e-auctions of Wheat and Rice

Government of India has announced the sale of Wheat and Rice to private processors and traders, respectively, in order to curb the inflationary retail prices of Wheat/Wheat Flour/Rice in the open market. Food Corporation of India, Tamil Nadu Region will release Wheat FAQWheat URS (10,500 MT offered from 20 depots) and Non Fortified Raw Rice (20,270 MT offered from 14 depots) to buyers/traders under Open Market Sale Scheme (D) for registered bulk buyers/traders/manufacturers of Wheat Rice products. FCI is conducting OMSS (D) weekly e-Auctions through mjunction, at https://www.valuejunction.in/fci. Empanelment of buyers/traders is an ongoing process and interested buyers/traders of Wheat Rice may get themselves empanelled/registered with mjunction at https://www.valuejunction.in/fci  to participate in e-auction. FCI TN region is floating tender for e-auction for sale of Wheat Rice on every Friday, since 23.06.2023.

The wheat processors having their electric connection of 1 - 75 KVA/LT connection can buy a minimum of 10 MT to a maximum of 50 MT of wheat per week. The large processors (HT connection), desirous of purchasing wheat can bid from minimum 10 MT to maximum 250 MT per week. ln case of rice, it would be 1 MT to maximum of 2000 MT, per trader/entity per week, from all designated depots of FCI put together depots, under OMSS (D). Under the scheme, the participants in the weekly e-auction can bid upwards from the base rate of Rs. 21.50/kg, Rs.21.25/Kg, Rs 29.00/ Kg (Rs 0.73/kg to be added in base reserve price of rice in case of fortified rice) for FAQ wheat, URS wheat and Non Fortified Raw Rice respectively..
