Department of Mechanical Engineering of National Institute of Technology Puducherry is organizing a five days Faculty Development Programme on “Advanced Modelling and Simulations for Engineers’’ in Hybrid mode. The Chief Guest, Dr. G. Geetha, Deputy Director, Center for Intellectual Property, Anna University, Chennai was inaugurated the function in the presence of Dr. Usha Natesan, Director(i/c), NIT Puducherry,                                      Dr. Sundaravarathan S, Registrar, NIT Puducherry and Dr. N.M. Sivaram, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department (Mechanical Engineering).

Dr. G. Geetha in her chief guest address discussed the importance of innovative research and highlighted the need for awareness on intellectual property rights. Dr. Sundaravarathan S pointed out the importance of sharing knowledge and congratulated the Mechanical Engineering department for conducting events annually at NIT Puducherry. With a moto of bridging the gap between industry and academia, sessions by experts from leading institutions and industries have been organized.

Invited lectures have been organized by experts from IITs, NITs, Foreign Universities and leading industries. Over 65 participants from academia and industry have registered from all over India and from premier organizations including IITs, NITs, state universities, private institutions and reputed industries. Dr. Naveen Raj R, Convener (AMSE-FDP),                                   Dr. Karpagaraj R, Coordinator (AMSE-FDP) and Dr. Satish Kumar P, Coordinator (AMSE-FDP) were also present in the event.
