Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and IT Shri Rajiv Chandrasekhar said that the new generation was living in an India where there was immense opportunities for the youth in any field, and hence they were part of the most fortunate generation in the post-Independence era.

 

He was speaking after inaugurating the mega conference of CA students conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India, Kozhikode chapter.

 

“Earlier, the benefits of the schemes announced by the government were lost among middlemen. Those who were eligible did not get the benefits. But today, the benefits are directly reaching the eligible beneficiaries. This, too, is an example of a changed, new India,” the Minister said. Digital economy was growing two and a half times faster than the regular GDP. In 2014, the Digital economy was four and a half percent of the GDP. Today it was 11 per cent and in 2026, it would be 20%, the Minister added.

 

ICAI Kozhikode Branch Chairman Shri Mujeeb Rahman presided over the function. SIRC Member Shri Satheesan offered felicitations. Kozhikode Branch SICASA Chairman Shri Vinod welcomed the gathering while Secretary Shri Afrid Sulthan proposed a vote of thanks. The Minister also released the ICAI Souvenir and regional conference logo.
