Indian Audit and Accounts Department field offices celebrates Vigilance awareness week

Field Audit offices of Indian Audit and Accounts Department in Chennai celebrate the Vigilance Awareness Week from 30 October to 5 November 2023. During this week various awareness activities were carried. A valedictory function was held on 2 November 2023 at Audit Building in Teynampet.
Thiru Shankar Jiwal, Director General of Tamil Nadu Police was the Chief Guest. In his address, stressed the need for vigilance in all spheres of Government function and appreciated the role of Audit in inculcating vigilance awareness through its reports. He stated that cybercrimes are growing at alarming rates and about 800 calls are received daily by TN Police through the dedicated Cyber Crime Help Line (1930). He exhorted the audience to be vigilant about cybercrimes to guard against the faceless and borderless enemies targeting people from all walks of life. The DGP also explained the efforts being taken by the Police Department, including the efforts to create awareness by propagating the modus operandi of cyber criminals, which is updated every month. This information can be accessed through a QR code circulated by the Department. Thiru. C. Nedunchezhian, Principal Accountant General, Thiru K.P. Anand, Principal Accountant General, and Tmt P. Madhavi, Principal Director of Audit spoke in the function and facilitated the chief guest. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Thiru G. Rajendran Senior Deputy Accountant General.
