Kerala Raj Bhavan celebrates Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat

A function was arranged at Kerala Raj Bhavan on 1st November to commemorate the formation day of States including Kerala and union territories, as part of Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat. In connection with the commemoration of the Foundation Day of States and UTs, the Honourable Governor, who is on tour, conveyed his greetings to Governors of Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Lt. Governors / Administrators of the Union Territories of Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Jammu & Kashmir, which celebrated formation day on 1st November.

At the function held at Kerala Raj Bhavan auditorium, Additional Chief Secretary to Governor, Dr Davendra Kumar Dhodawat, IAS made a detailed presentation on the evolution and formation of these States, emphasizing the  matchless contribution of Sardar Patel, the architect of modern India. In order to create an awareness on the Fundamental Duties guaranteed to a citizen, Dr Dhodawat read out the provisions of Article 51A of the Constitution of India which was repeated by the staff members of Kerala Raj Bhavan. An outline copy of the map of India was also distributed among staff members with a request to mark the name of States and UTs and also to share the same with their family members. The officials of Raj Bhavan offered felicitation speeches sharing information on the states, their culture, language etc.

Kerala Formation Day was also celebrated along with this, by emphasizing Kerala’s development and the need to enrich the State’s official language,  Malayalam, while upholding national values and interests, in the true spirit of unity in diversity. 
On 31st October, the formation day of Ladakh, a team of youth from Ladakh had presented cultural items at a programme attended by Hon’ble Governor at Kochi.
