Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organized a Khadi Maha Utsav on the occasion of the 154^th Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration at the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Kavaratti, Lakshadweep on 30th October 2023 with the support of Lakshadweep KVIB. More than 50 students along with their teachers and the staff of Lakshadweep KVIB participated in the Utsav.

 

The event was chaired by Shri Kasim Koya, Chairman of Lakshadweep KVIB. The keynote address was delivered by Shri C.G Andavar, State Director, Thiruvananthapuram. Shri P. Sanjeev, Asst. Director, KVIC talked about the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) of  KVIC and also showed success story videos as part of the presentation.

 

A selfie point and a Khadi Yatra were also arranged on the occasion. Various schemes are being implemented by KVIC to generate employment opportunities in the island.
