In celebration of National Postal Week, the Goa Postal Division marked Philately Day today. The event saw the release of a Special Cancellation by Shri. Sanjay Walvekar, Sr. Supdt. of Post offices, Goa Division, Panaji.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. M.R. Ramesh Kumar, a Philatelist and retired Scientist from NIO, as well as Shri. G.S. Rane, Sr. Postmaster Panaji HO, Philatelist, and other Postal Officials.

The event featured an exhibition with two frames dedicated to the wildlife of India, one frame highlighting Indian Scientists, and another frame dedicated to Women Freedom Fighters of India, all through the fascinating world of Philately, curated by Dr. M.R. Ramesh Kumar.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 11th to 17th October 2023 at Panaji Philately Bureau at Panaji Head Post Office from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Additionally, Dr. M.R. Ramesh Kumar conducted a seminar and a philatelic quiz for both philatelists and postal staff.

Goa Postal Division also organized the "Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition" at the Government College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Khandola, Marcela, Goa, with the theme "Digital India for New India."
